Sales Policy at Bank Farm Equestrian

The menage at bank farm equestrian centre

At Bank Farm Equestrian, we’re proud to be a fully established and busy equestrian centre, offering a wide range of activities, not just horse sales. Because of this, our time and resources are dedicated to committed clients and the horses in our care.

All of our sales horses are vetted & licensed for the equestrian centre. They live varied, active lives - hacking, lessons, cross country, show jumping, hunting, and more - and are regularly ridden by a variety of riders. We only sell horses that we would be proud to keep ourselves.

To make the process smooth, fair, and professional for both buyers and our team, we kindly ask you to read our Sales Trial Policy below before enquiring:

1. Trial Riding Policy

We encourage potential buyers to experience our horses through our hack or lesson services. This gives you a genuine opportunity to feel each horse’s personality and suitability for your riding style.

2. Payment for Services

To arrange a trial ride, payment is required for the hack or lesson. This ensures we can dedicate our time to serious enquiries only.

3. Refund on Purchase

If you decide to purchase the horse, we will refund the cost of up to four one-hour rides (maximum value £200) from the final purchase price. This way, you can feel confident in your decision while knowing your trial rides were a worthwhile investment. *A refund is only available on trial rides booked on the purchased horse.

4. Exemptions to Policy Rules

The only exception to our trial ride policy applies to young horses under the licensable age of four, and to those that have only recently arrived and are awaiting licensing. These horses are not yet part of our riding school programme; they are trained and ridden by our staff and are sold based on our professional assessment of their suitability.

5. Trial Duration

You’re welcome to ride the horse as many times as you like, but realistically, and in our experience, after three to four rides you should know if the horse is the right fit for you.

We hope this policy makes everything clear, fair, and reassuring. As a centre with a busy diary of lessons, hacks, clinics, and events, it’s not fair on our committed clients, or our horses, to have time taken up by those who aren’t serious about buying. We therefore strictly enforce a no time wasters, no joyriders policy to ensure enquiries come from genuine buyers only. If you don’t have the funds readily available, or need to sell another horse first, please hold off on booking a trial, unless you are enquiring about a part exchange.

So (with a smile), we don’t accept window shoppers, and Bank Farm isn’t the place for a free ride out!
